Meet the Blogger Series - Interview 3

#MeetTheBlogger!

I have decided to start a new series here on Writing & Rambling after meeting so many lovely bloggers on Twitter I would like to get to know them. So I am going to try to recruit as many as I can as I think everyone deserves a chance to be in the spotlight. =)

Q1: Hello there, nice to have you here on Writing & Rambling! Please could you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your Blog:

My name is Nicola, a 19 year old aspiring writer and English Literature student based in Yorkshire. I own a little blog on the internet called The Fashion District, where I post everything beauty, fashion and lifestyle related with a few book post and smoothie recipes for good measure.

Q2: At what point did you decide to make a Blog and share it with the world??

I started my blog back in 2011 when I was 15 years old, which makes me feel especially old now. I posted really rubbish quality posts now that I look back on them, but I refuse to delete them because it proves to me how far I have grown as a blogger. I started with the idea of just being a fashion blogger, but my aspirations have changed, which was inevitable, but what remains is my love for blogging.

Q3: How would you describe your writing style? Has it changed over time at all?

Describing your writing style is especially hard as you don't purposely write intentionally in a certain prose. But if I had to pin point it, I would have to say I write in a informative manner. I like to get my point across. My writing style has definitely changed over time, I have become more educated in the last 4 years, and I take English Literature as a course at University which allows you to discover yourself and your writing abilities.

Q4: Was there anyone in particular who inspired you? Which Bloggers do you emulate?

As cliché and obvious as it sounds, Zoella inspired me. I loved her writing style, and its great to see how far she has come. I love Lydia Millen especially at the moment, I love her aesthetic style and her professional writing style. I also love her YouTube which makes me want to start one, but I never could.

Q5: Do you have anything in the pipeline on the Blog which you are particularly excited about?!

I am really excited to get a blog post up about mental illness. It is something I feel really strongly about and would love for people to get an insight into the illness, as it is a very misconstrued subject. I am writing a novel about the subject too which is exciting, as it allows me to see people reaction depression beforehand. I also love to get book series posts up too!

Q6: Does anyone else know about your Blog? What do they think about it??

None of my friends know about my blog, I'm too embarrassed and worried that they will not understand. Also, I feel that it would change what I post if I knew they read it. My Dad and brother know about it, but they don't really understand what its all about.

Q7: Are you obsessed with Lush!?!? If YES what is your favourite product?!

I love lush! I love a good relaxing bath on a night, my favourite is the creamy candy bath bubble bar as its my favourite smell! My favourite bath bomb is dragons egg, the colours are mesmerising.

Q8: Has your Blog helped you in other areas of life?!

It has definitely allowed me to express myself and develop my writing. It has taught me organisational skills too, for example when to get blog posts up and fit in with my everyday life. The blogging community is a beautiful place too, it allows me to see the goodness in people. Not everyone is so positive though.

Q9: What is it that makes you so fabulous?!

I am definitely not one to blow my own trumpet so I have no idea how to answer this question...I guess my organisational skills are pretty fabby.

Q10: Finally, can you recommend anything to us today!? (Skincare/Beauty/TV Show/DVD/Music/Food Item...anything!)

I would recommend The Body Shop's Vitamin C moisturiser! A complete game changer.

Also, a TV show to watch would definitely be Impractical Jokers, a completely hilarious show, and season 7 is being aired on Mondays on Comedy Central.

So that concludes our 'Meet the Blogger' for today! Thank You so Much for taking the time to answer these questions today, much appreciated!
