Meet the Blogger!
Q1: Hello there, nice to have you here on Writing & Rambling! Please could you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your Blog:
I'm Hayley from LondonBeautyQueen.com and I've run my blog for nearly 6 years. I talk about things from a slightly different perspective, having worked in the beauty industry for many years, and also focus a little more on products suited to a 30+ audience.
Q2: At what point did you decide to make a Blog and share it with the world??
I was between jobs and a little bored. Blogs had just started to become a 'thing' but were incredibly small; I'd read a few and thought it was something I could do too, so I set up a site and the rest is history. Six years later and I'm one of the most established and respected beauty blogs in the UK!
Q3: How would you describe your writing style? Has it changed over time at all?
My writing style is very frank, personable and chatty. It's of course developed over time as my skillset has improved from writing daily, but essentially it's the same as it always was. My friends and family read my blog because it's like having a conversation with me.
Q4: Was there anyone in particular who inspired you? Which Bloggers do you emulate?
Not anybody in particular - I think the point of the blogosphere is that it's so varied and you can carve your own niche; it's easy to be who you want to be. I'm constantly inspired by what's going on around me and all the other blogs I read, but most of all I just crack on creating something I would personally like to read.
Q5: Do you have anything in the pipeline on the Blog which you are particularly excited about?!
I've just re-launched the site for 2016 as I felt it needed a cleaner, fresher and mature look; my focus for the next year is definitely well-being, beauty for the 30+ woman and starting to cover varying topics that my previous incarnation limited me to.
Q6: Does anyone else know about your Blog? What do they think about it??
Yes, everyone! Even friends I haven't seen since school, my boyfriend's work colleagues and random people I bump into in the post office.
Q7: Are you obsessed with Lush!?!? If YES what is your favourite product?!
Not really. I do like some of their things, but I feel they're a bit 'done' and need a refresh. Bath bombs and really sweet products are a little bit outdated now, so I'm excited to see how they'll develop their brand.
Q8: Has your Blog helped you in other areas of life?!
It's definitely helped me form friendships, establish a new career, travel and experience lots of new things. Without it I would still be stuck in an office singing to someone else's hymn sheet!
Q9: What is it that makes you so fabulous?!
My honesty, attitude to life and no bull approach. Everyone can be fabulous - just don't put up with anyone else's sh*t!
Q10: Finally, can you recommened anything to us today!? (Skincare/Beauty/Tv Show/DVD/Music/Food Item...anything!)
I've just watched The Danish Girl at the cinema and it was incredible. So moving, so thought provoking and so worth a watch.
