#smallbiz Series, Part I Featuring Fab Little Bag!

#smallbiz Series!

Hello there! I have decided to start another new series on my Blog, this time focussing on small businesses. Being a blogger I am regularly put in touch with owners of small businesses and it is a part I really do enjoy! Whether it be reviewing a product, service or finding a new company which sells fashion at an affordable price, there is often a small team of people behind it, plugging away, putting in the late nights and the early mornings trying everything to make a success out of their little business. I do feel, that as bloggers we owe some responsibility to them as more and more of them are turning to Twitter and bloggers alike to promote themselves. Plus, I think it's fun being one of only a handful of bloggers lucky enough to discover a burgeoning business and getting to trial some of their products! Or is that just me!?
I have found all of the business I'll be featuring on Twitter, under the hashtag #smallbiz! To start with, I'll be featuring a couple of the small businesses I've already come into contact with, as that way I hope that a few of you will have already heard of them too!
So if you like finding new places to buy fashion, beauty or a present for your loved one, sit back, grab a cuppa and read on!

Fab Little Bag!

Today I want to talk to you about Fab Little Bag, a company started by owner Martha when she was on the toilet!! I think all the best ideas come to us when we least expect them! She started the company in May 2014, beginning trading in May 2015. Martha wanted a no-fuss, environmentally friendly, more discreet way of disposing of her sanitary products.

She wholeheartedly believes that as women we deserve to have a hygienic, safe, easy way to deal with our time of the month. I have to say I agree with her as there have been times there hasn't been a bin available and I've had to deal with a tampon wrapped in toilet paper coming out of the cubicle!!

The best thing about these fablittlebags are that they are made from 35% organic material and are oxo-biodegradable meaning that you can rest easy knowing that you're doing good for the environment whilst also saving the drains from becoming blocked. The little packs are very handy to store in your handbag for when you're out and about or at work. You can easily re-fill them from your bathroom pack which stays at home ensuring that you're never without your fablittlebag! Perfect!

The actual bags themselves feature patented loops which make everything easy if you've got your other hand otherwise occupied!!

Bathroom Pack £2.99

I am yet to try these out but I have them ready and waiting for when I am blessed with my period! I count myself very lucky though as mine is usually very light, lasting only 4 days without any of the usual cramps which most women suffer from! >.<

I love the design of these bags, I feel they would be very easy to use and very discreet. Definitely no shame here!

The green finger loops can also be used to shut the bag after use ensuring that your sanitary product is completely sealed off. Great if there isn't a bin immediately available
and you have to temporarily store it in your
handbag. You can then discreetly place it inside
with no-one knowing what's inside!!!

Handbag Pack £1.99

I have to say I absolutely adore the ethos behind this company. Here's a woman who spotted a problem, saw a gap in the market to create something unique and jumped at the opportunity. I'm sure every woman at some point in her life has needed her very own fablittlebag, I know I have!! These would have come in SO handy whilst I was backpacking in Australia in 2013!! haha! There aren't many opportunities to dispose of your tampon in the middle of the desert, or on a cattle station in the middle of Queensland!! >.<

I will from now on be recommending them to anyone I know who is heading out there themselves, as well as suggesting women pack them in their hand luggage when flying, as from personal experience, being on a 22 hour flight whilst being on your period just isn't fun! This is definitely something that shouldn't ever leave your side, your handbag, or your bathroom cupboard, or your car even!!!!

You can purchase them from Waitrose and Ocado and of course from the fablittlebag website too! They are very reasonably priced, the bathroom pack works out at just 15p for each little bag! Amazing value!! I know tampons/sanitary towels are expensive and there's been all that talk about tampon tax, meaning that we are now charged 5% on top of their base price. I can't even get my head around that, for so long these products were not taxed and rightly so as they are necessary to help us deal with our monthly gift but essential to every women's bathroom cabinet! Why all of a sudden the Government wants to tax women for having a period is beyond me!?!

Anyway, I will get off my moral high horse long enough to say that these fablittlebags are amazing and I am so pleased that Martha had that amazing thought all those years ago!!

I hope you've enjoyed learning a little bit more about the company that is fablittlebag. I know I have! Do let me know if you've heard of them before or maybe you've used them before and can let me know how you found them!?!? Let's share our stories and talk more openly about periods!!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Please be sure to visit their Twitter | Facebook and leave a nice comment!!! =)

Love,
Sarah
