25 Questions - Food Tag!

Learn more about me through food!

Thanks to Jessica and James from Food and Baker Blog for encouraging me to do this tag, I certainly enjoyed it! I'm a massive foodie and love talking about it as much as I do eating it! I hope you like finding out a little more about me through my food, for me you really get to know a person by finding out their food likes and hates! (Read their 25 Questions Food Tag)

1. What's your favourite breakfast?

It would definitely have to be scrambled eggs, avocado and smoked salmon. Although I do love a good Eggs Benedict too!

2. How do you drink your coffee?

I do not drink coffee! Only tea! I really love a good cup of English tea (milk no sugar!) but also love a good cup of green tea! YUM!

3. What's on your favourite sandwich?

Tough one as I love so many, but recently I have been loving Avocado on toast! #heaven

4. Soup or Salad?

Soup in the winter and salad in the summer!

5. What's your favourite cookbook?

The one my Grandma gave to my Mum. It is full to the brim with recipes which have been tried and tested over the generations. Plus of course it is full of all the families' favourite naughty treats which just remind us of my Grandma! She really loves to cook up treats whenever there's a family get together and I can tell you we're all extremely grateful!

6. No more sweets or no more hearty foods?

Well if any of my readers know me (which I hope they do!) they know that I absolutely adore sweet things, I'm all about the sugar! I also love hearty foods such as pasta, potatoes and all things carb heavy! Pasta Carbonara and Spaghetti Bolognaise are like my two ultimate Italian dishes, so I would say I'd have to give up the sweets so I could enjoy these and more!

7. What's your favourite Cuisine?

Quite possibly Italian...they have everything covered so why go elsewhere!?!? Gimmie all the carbs.......................#notsharing

8. What's your favourite food movie?

Tough one.....I do love me a good Disney movie, so Ratatouille, but I also love Chocolat, based on the novel by Joanne Harris. (Fun fact, I never used to eat Ratatouille when I was younger, now I love it! Thanks Mum!)

9. What's your most guilty pleasure?

HHmmmm, I'm a big foodie so I suppose it would have to be eating Nutella out of the jar with a spoon!! haha!!! YUM!

10. What's your greatest inspiration source?

Definitely from other blogs as well as cooking shows! Love nothing better than settling down to watch Masterchef (Australia!), Great British Bake Off, Bake Off Crème de la Crème etc....love it all!

11. Cooking at home or going out for dinner?

I absolutely LOVE eating out! Going to a new restaurant and experiencing everything they have to offer always makes me happy! Especially more so now because I can write about it and tell others what was good and how the food was! Exciting times.....

12. High end or low profile?

Low end all the way. I love supporting smaller, independent coffee shops, restaurants & food stores because they seem to go that extra mile to make you feel good and are always very appreciative of your custom! At home we are lucky enough to have an award winning farm shop on our doorstep and I love going there, knowing that I'm helping to support British Farmers. They also sell great biscuits, cakes and crisps which is always an added bonus as these are usually local or from British producers. Nothing makes me happier really.

13. What's your favourite restaurant?

I haven't really been to that many but there was one in LA where I had the best steak I have ever eaten. In fact, that whole meal was incredible and I would love to go back one day! (Comme Ca in LA if you're interested!) I also had Pain De Piece ice cream which was incredible......as well as a pretty epic cocktail.......oooo #memories, I want to go back now...!! #foodofdreams

14. I do my grocery shopping at:

My local farm shop, Tesco, Waitrose (when in Harrogate) and Marks and Spencers!

 15. The tastiest food I've ever eaten was:

That meal in LA was pretty tasty but I guess I can't have that for both answers! So I'll go for a delicious pork belly dish I had in 1881 in South Australia. It was amazing and I still haven't forgotten it, which just goes to prove just how memorable it was!! That whole meal in fact was one of the best I had whilst backpacking......#foodmemories (FYI I was with my parents at the time.....I wasn't some fancy pants backpacker you know!)

17. Coffee with George Clooney or Heston Blumenthal?

I love how crazy Heston is, what with his food science and all that....but George.....he's so swoon worthy......and I know which my Mum would prefer!!! Haha!!

18. What should not be missing in your kitchen?

A good quality food mixer!!! I'm lusting after a proper kitchen  at the moment.....just think of all the amazing bakes I can create from it.......but my mixer does a pretty amazing job as it is though!

19. What is your favourite snack?

I love apples and will cut them up into quarters and then eights to eat them....yum! My favourites are Braeburns......delicious!

20. What's on your pizza?
Easy! Ham and Pineapple, every time! Delicious........I don't care what anybody says about how weird it is to have pineapple on pizza, I absolutely love it and have done for many many years!!!!! #HawaiianForever

21. What food do you really dislike?
If you read my 'Four Fun Facts' Tag you'll know the answer to this!! But just in case you missed it I'll fill you in: MUSHROOMS!!!! EUGH!! Don't get me started.....I will not like them if I try them anytime soon so don't even bother!! I also hate: liver, offal, sardines, black pudding and almonds!! (although just the flavouring, I actually CAN eat the whole nut!!)

22. What's your favourite food blog?
For sure this has to be Jane's Patisserie...her blog is full to the brim with cakes!!! Everything she makes is amazing and actually really easy! I've made her Chocolate Orange Cheesecake and it went down SSOO well so I know first-hand how easy and delicious her cakes/cheesecakes are.....go follow her and fall headfirst into a food coma....You're Welcome!

23. What's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?

Snails without a doubt! ahaha!! They were in a garlic butter and were actually really tasty! I wouldn't order them though......I've also tried frog's legs!! aha! Again I wouldn't necessarily order them but I liked them at the time...!
24. What's on your food bucket list?

I would love to try more Asian food but I don't like sushi!! =( Seriously though some of their food does look amazing! But I'd also love to eat my way around South America and Mexico, because who doesn't love guacamole and margaritas!?!?

25. I couldn't live without:
Carbs!!! Seriously, who ever thought that a carb free diet was a good thing!?!? Not me that's for sure!! I love potatoes, bread, pasta, pizza....basically everything that fills you and makes your belly happy is good to me!! #carbloading #gimmethecarbs

BONUS question:

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Carbs!! Potatoes!!! Need I say more!?!?!??!
