#MeetTheBlogger Series - Interview 55

Meet the Blogger!
I have decided to start a new series here on Writing & Rambling after meeting so many lovely bloggers on Twitter I would like to get to know them. So I am going to try to recruit as many as I can as I think everyone deserves a chance to be in the spotlight!
Q1: Hello there, nice to have you here on Writing & Rambling! Please could you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your Blog:
I'm Lucy, I blog at www.HarrogateMama.com and share what’s great about Harrogate for families along with other topical posts for Mamas! I’m a full-time stay at home Mum to nine year old twin girls and my little boy who’s just turned four. I’ve lived in Harrogate all my life and love raising my family here.

Q2: At what point did you decide to make a Blog and share it with the world??

I went away on a Eurocamp holiday over Summer and loads of my friends asked me to let me know what it was like when we got back as they'd been toying with the idea too! So I joked,  "I'll blog about it when I get back!”.
I surprised myself by following through on the idea and subsequently blogged a couple more family trips, just to share with family and friends. I didn't make the blog public for another six months (March 2016) when I finally realised I could be sharing all my local knowledge with other families too!

Q3: How would you describe your writing style? Has it changed over time at all?

Most people who know me who read my blog will say to me,"I love how you write, it’s like I’m having a conversation with you and I can really hear you coming off the page!”. Which is such a lovely compliment! So I guess I would say I simply write what’s in my head. I do try to keep it conversational in tone and chatty. I’m working on keeping my word count down as I do love to write a long blog post!

Q4: Was there anyone in particular who inspired you? Which Bloggers do you emulate?
Victoria Turner at The Harrogate Girl was really inspiring to me, she started her blog around six months before me and once I got mine up and running we met up to chat about the whole blogging scene! I've also read a lot of Mummy blogs since having children myself, I love BrummyMummyof2, The Unmumsy Mum, Hurrah for Gin and I'm always on Mumsnet blogger pages as well as Selfish Mother!
Emma at BrummyMummyof2 has been an inspiration to me, I love the way she shares her life, just how it is without papering over the cracks. As a reader it makes you feel like you can really relate to her, as being a Mama, life is not always Instagram perfect!

Q5: Do you have anything in the pipeline on the Blog which you are particularly excited about?!

This year I’m aiming to focus more on only sharing blog content that I really love! It’s been hard turning down opportunities but I’m keen to stay loyal to my audience and make sure I’m blogging good relatable content. I’d love to hold another blogging event, like the movie meet up I held a few months ago, it’s great to be able to put other Harrogate Mamas in touch with each other and enjoy socialising in real life as well as over screens!

Q6: Does anyone else know about your Blog? What do they think about it??
Luckily lots of local businesses and other Harrogatarians do know my blog. The Harrogate Advertiser have been great at supporting me on my journey and will get in touch with me if they’d like comments on local issues too.

Q7: Are you obsessed with Lush!? If YES what is your favourite product?!

I'm not particularly but my twin girls love it! They always want to buy something in the shop in Harrogate and are in love with their glittery bath bombs!

Q8: Has your Blog helped you in other areas of life?!

Massively! I've been a stay at home mum since my girls were born and it's been amazing to 'find my voice' again in so many ways! It's been like a new lease of life for me, meeting new people, writing again and all the while enjoying something for myself that I can share with others which hopefully brings something to their lives too!

Q9: What is it that makes you so fabulous?!
I'm pretty sure that I’m not actually that fabulous! I do my best to be a good Mama and like all mums my kids always come first. So if anything makes me good at what I do it’s them and the support of my own parents and my husband of course, who puts up with me taking endless blogging photos and writing late into the night!

Q10: Finally, can you recommened anything to us today!? (Skincare/Beauty/Tv Show/DVD/Music/Food Item...anything!)

Given it’s January and the nights are dark and cold we are staying in on an evening. We’ve been enjoying the box sets of The Crown and Narcos on Netflix. Both totally different genres but make great viewing!

So that concludes our 'Meet the Blogger' for today! Thank You so Much for taking the time to answer these questions today, much appreciated!
Please take the time to check out the blog/Twitter/Facebook/Instagram etc, be sure to leave a comment saying you found them via Writing & Rambling! Thank You!
