Hello! Told you I'd be back! This time, with another skincare review! You know how much i love my skincare, so when I got an email asking if I wanted to review this cream from Skin Doctors, i was like, yes please! Always interested in finding a new lotion or potion and seeing if it works for me! This was no exception...
This beelift moisturiser from Skin Doctors claims to actively defy ageing with its combination of amino acids, peptides and key enzymes (Melittin, Manuka Honey, Trylagen and Hyadisine). It 'tricks' the skin into thinking it has been lightly stung and instantly works to control facial muscles for tightening, lifting, plumping and firming of the skin. Giving you that dewy, youthful appearance that everybody in the beauty/cosmetic industry seems to want!
It is clinically proven to increase collagen by 300%, tighten, plump and firm the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sagging and ageing skin. Essentially, it is a non surgical facelift in a pot, apparently!
I have been trying this on and off for about 3 weeks or so now and can give my review but really, I don't think this did anything to my skin. Perhaps because I've been so lax with it and haven't actually used it consistently day after day, night after night to actually notice any effect but hey, I want to be honest in these reviews...!
This moisturiser should be applied morning and night after cleansing and when I have been using it, I applied it after my serum but before my normal moisturiser. I felt that although it is a light cream, it should be a final step rather than in addition to because it doesn't seem to sink in that well to my skin. This could be for any number of reasons but that's how I felt whilst using it. You may feel differently.
Beelift is cruelty free and contains no parabens but should not be used by anyone who is allergic to bee venom.
I felt that it didn't target my wrinkles or give me that 'just bitten' feeling but that could be because a) I don't have wrinkles yet (thankfully!) and b) I didn't use it consistently enough. Either way, I feel that I should stay away from any product that states it's anti-ageing because, guess what? Ageing is inevitable! There's no product on the market today that can effectively and definitively get rid of or stop ageing!! So put down that anti-ageing moisturiser and step into the light, you're beautiful as you are and there's something to be said to age gracefully! Those wrinkles were given to you by your family and friends (and aren't, hopefully, a sign of work stress!) so enjoy seeing every laughter line, every worry wrinkle and know that they are a sign of a good life had! I'm 34 this year and as of yet have no set in wrinkles or worry lines which I am very happy about but that doesn't mean to say I haven't had a good life, I've just been blessed with youthful skin (Thanks Mum!). So I'm not going to sit here and tell you to buy this moisturiser because it will give you that youthful glow and you'll be more accepted in society because of it....use it if you want because it IS a good moisturiser, but also learn to embrace those lines and love where they came from! (And save yourself £40!)
The secret to youthful skin? A good diet, exercise, getting outdoors, removing your make-up, cleansing your skin and using a good moisturiser day & night. See! It's easy!
What i dislike about the product is the packaging, a glass jar just waiting to get smashed in my opinion but that could be because I'm clumsy! I dislike jars because I hate the idea of putting my fingers INTO something to get product out! Just not sanitary! It's also quite heavy so not travel friendly at all!
This is very similar to another bee venom product I have tried - the Beebio Anti Ageing Face Masque which I got in my march beauty blogger box! I honestly cannot remember if I ever used that or what effect it had on my skin...!
So would I recommened this beelift moisturiser? Well yes and no. I wouldn't recommened it as an anti-ageing product because, well, you know why now! But I would recommened it as a normal moisturiser that has added benefits! But personally, I wouldn't spend £40 on it!
I hope this anti review has helped you some, I know I'm supposed to sing this product's praises and rave about it, but to be honest, I can't and I want this blog to be an honest space. I've had troubles with my laptop and therefore haven't been able to write reviews until now and actually have pushed this moisturiser to the back of my shelf! Plus, as I've said, ageing is inevitable and no product is ever going to prevent it! I hope I haven't put you off, please let me know in the comments what you think of this review and product! Have you ever tried anything from Skin Doctors?? Lemme know!
Thanks for reading guys and girls!
