#MeetTheBlogger Series Interview 43

Wednesday, 26 October 2016

I have decided to start a new series here on Sunshine Sarahxo after meeting so many lovely bloggers on Twitter I would like to get to know them. So I am going to try to recruit as many as I can as I think everyone deserves a chance to be in the spotlight.

Q1: Hello there, nice to have you here on Sunshine Sarahxo! Please could you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your Blog:

Hi, Im Leta, and I write Attachment Mummy, the top parenting and lifestyle blog in the UK according to Teads 2015. I live by the sea in West Sussex with three daughters aged 6 & under, five cats and one husband. Attachment Mummy features daily life from breakfast to bedtime, with lots of outdoor adventures, recipes, ideas, reviews and advice.

Q2: At what point did you decide to make a Blog and share it with the world??

I started my blog in March 2012, just after my second daughter was born. Like many of us, I originally intended it just to record family life and memories, but it grew commercial legs and I went pro last year. Whilst personal blogs are great, and I read lots of them, running a more magazine-style blog suits our family lifestyle as we can include everything, whilst Im still earning a living to support our adventures. Win, win!

Q3: How would you describe your writing style? Has it changed over time at all?

My readers often say that reading my blog is like having a chat with a friend, so I think I write as I speak, which has always been my goal. Being authentic is the most important thing for me, in terms of both voice and subject matter. Unfortunately that sometimes means turning down lucrative contracts because the subject or product doesnt match our beliefs or ethics.

Q4: Was there anyone in particular who inspired you? Which Bloggers do you emulate?

The type of blogs I read changes all the time, from baby blogs to business blogs, food blogs to finance blogs. I probably take bits of inspiration from all of them at different times.

Q5: Do you have anything in the pipeline on the Blog which you are particularly excited about?!

We have some fabulous new contracts in the pipeline, but nothing I can talk about yet unfortunately! I am also toying with the idea of setting up a newsletter.

Q6: Does anyone else know about your Blog? What do they think about it??

They do, but Im not sure how often they read it! A couple of good friends read most posts and give me regular feedback on what they enjoyed, or how I can move forward. One friend reads a lot of blogs in other genres and bouncing ideas around in conversation with him has helped me crystallise different ideas. You know when you have lots of ideas but need to find the right path? Hes the one I turn to for my thinking out loud space. My husband, Steve, is also incredibly helpful, both in a practical way and for discussing ideas with. I definitely couldnt do it without him.

Q7: Are you obsessed with Lush!?!? If YES what is your favourite product?!

Not obsessed, but I do love a good bath bomb! Theres a cocoa butter one that is just divine, smells delicious and gives you the softest skin ever.

Q8: Has your Blog helped you in other areas of life?!

My blog is my life! Well maybe not, but it feels that way sometimes. As a lifestyle blogger youre never without your camera and notebook, and there is inspiration everywhere, from family days out to overheard conversation on the train. Blogging has opened up so many other avenues for me, from freelance writing and consulting opportunities, to the opportunities it has given our family, such as events and holidays. Its certainly a great job!

Q9: What is it that makes you so fabulous?!

My children, my husband and the cats because, in their own little ways, they make me feel fabulous every day. Fabulousness isnt in a make-up bag, a beauty product, a fancy restaurant or lovely clothes, although those are all great, its in being loved and those daily moments of happiness you have with your loved ones.

Q10: Finally, can you recommened anything to us today!? (Skincare/Beauty/Tv Show/DVD/Music/Food Item...anything!)

Ooh yes! There have been so many great TV series already this year, some of our favourites are Line of Duty (watch from series one), Man in the High Castle, Deutschland 83, The Night Manager, and the intriguing Person of Interest continues to putter along on Channel 5 with seemingly little interest. If youve missed any of those, catch up now!

So that concludes our 'Meet the Blogger' for today! Thank You so Much for taking the time to answer these questions today, much appreciated!

Please take the time to check out the blog/Twitter/Facebook/Instagram etc, be sure to leave a comment saying you found them via Sunshine Sarahxo! Thank You!!
