Welcoming Heal To Harrogate, The New Well-Being Spa On The Block*!

www.sunshinesarahxo.comSometimes being a blogger has its upsides, like being asked to come and have a complementary treatment at the new spa! I couldn’t say no so I booked myself in for a Pro Sleep massage and headed on down..

Heal Spa is located at 6 Montpellier Gardens, right next door to the Drum and Monkey pub in Harrogate. It can be easy to miss as I found when trying to locate it! Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by the staff and offered a drink. Up the stairs I was quickly chatting to the lovely ladies from Comfort Zone who specialise in the very latest technology to help diagnose skin problems and the correct treatment/skincare regime to correct it. My skin was tested and to my delight I found my skin hydration had rocketed upto 78%!! A MASSIVE leap up from 29% when I was tested at the Kiehl’s store in York back in December, meaning that the initial investment was well worth it! (Thanks Kiehl’s!) There was damage to my cheeks, which I wasn’t surprised to learn because they have always been the driest part of my face.

Moving on, I chatted to the hairdressers all about their new range of hair products, all designed to leave your hair in tip top condition. Kevin Murphy are a brand which aline with Heal’s misson about being more environmentally friendly and responsible without compromising on quality. Australian haircare brand, Kevin Murphy’s products deliver weightless texture using skincare technology so you needn’t worry about your hair being weighed down and lacking movement! They are also recognised by PETA as a cruelty free company. Excellent! Colour Me by Kevin Murphy is an artful blend of gentle and ‘from the earth’ ingredients which naturally moisturise, rejuvenate and impart incredible shine without having to further compromise the natural environment. Hair colour with a heart, what more could you want!

It soon became time for my Pro Sleep Massage said to “……induce a deep state of relaxation combining the intense sleep inducing qualities of aromatherapy, music and unique massage techniques from Kerala Ayurvedic and Indonesian Sea Malay…” As I have trouble sleeping, I thought this one could at least send me off easier. The massage itself was only a taster session but it was absolutely blissful. I love a good massage anyway and the combination of the aromatherapy oils and the soft music definitely relaxed me. I would happily book in for the full treatment if I found I was still struggling to sleep.

I couldn’t not taste one of these delicious doughnuts from Manna Bakery….passionfruit cheesecake…..amazing! I hadn’t heard of this local bakery before but have since been back to sample a Nutella doughnut and it was equally as delicious! I love supporting independent businesses and Heal are committed to giving back to the local community as they themselves become successful. I think this is brilliant and will help to keep the money in the local area instead of going out to bigger chain businesses. Another reason to visit Heal Wellness Spa.

The whole team were so friendly which definitely helped me because I was a bit anxious before heading in and even when I arrived I was quite nervous as I was the only one there at that time. I have talked before about my social anxiety and it is definitely a battle everyday but the more events I go to and the wider my circle of people to talk to the better I will (hopefully) become! One day at a time kids!

I want to thank everyone involved with Heal Spa, I really had the best time and I highly recommend them if you’re looking for somewhere to go for new nails, beauty treatments and hair appointments!

Love, Sarah
