Meet The Blogger Series - Interview 56

Wednesday, 23 August 2017

I have decided to start a new series here on Sunshine Sarahxo after meeting so many lovely bloggers on Twitter I would like to get to know them. So I am going to try to recruit as many as I can as I think everyone deserves a chance to be in the spotlight!

Q1: Hello there, nice to have you here on Sunshine Sarahxo! Please could you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your Blog:
Helloooo!  My name is Pixie Tenenbaum and my online home is where I write primarily about fashion and beauty, but more recently the site has naturally evolved to include elements of travel and lifestyle too.  I’m known for my quirky style and like to share my outfits on my site as well as in Twitter and instagram.
Q2: At what point did you decide to make a Blog and share it with the world??
My son was diagnosed with a rare disability and writing became an escape for me.  I was working full time as a Director in the NHS and then coming home to start work all over again with my son and not sleeping so I began to sit up through the night and write, that’s how Fashion Voyeur was born.  I was contacted by ELLE magazine on Twitter which made me realised that people were interested in what I had to say and since then i’ve gone full time with it and it’s become my primary source of income.
Q3: How would you describe your writing style? Has it changed over time at all?
I have a very particular writing style, I write as I speak but my style is also pretty editorial and quite different than other blogs.  I like to keep that personal element you know?  You’ll see what I mean when you check it out!
Q4: Was there anyone in particular who inspired you? Which Bloggers do you emulate?
When it comes to writing styles I really love Laura Weir, Vogue’s Fashion Features Editor, she brings a youthful vibe to the magazine.  In terms of blogs there are a few I love to read across different genres and they all have one thing in common - they keep it real.  In the North East I’m a fan of Elle blonde, Honestly Helen and Life in Geordieland, and further afield I really admire Chiara Ferragni, Song of Style and Em Sheldon.  There’s a real girl power vibe in the blogging community.
Q5: Do you have anything in the pipeline on the Blog which you are particularly excited about?!
Fashion Month!  Twice a year I cover Fashion Month and I’m always psyched about it. NYFW has been such a let down over the last few years but London and Paris are where it’s at right now and the talent coming through Scout is insane right now so I’m super excited about being invited to cover that.  I also have an epic project coming up with a big designer but I’m currently under embargo so you’ll have to guess until September when all is revealed!
Q6: Does anyone else know about your Blog? What do they think about it??
Designer duo Vin + Omi are personal friends of mine and they read my blog and tell me it’s cool, I have a pretty wide demographic so sometimes get stopped when I’m out shopping and it’s still very surreal to be recognised for my writing when I’m largely shunned by blogging awards!
Q7: Are you obsessed with Lush!?!? If YES what is your favourite product?!
My favourite LUSH product is not one you’d expect, aside from the Mask of Magnaminty, I love the Blue Robot bath bombs - I discovered them accidentally when I bought a batch of them for my son but they’re so cool I always slip a few in for myself too!
Q8: Has your Blog helped you in other areas of life?!
Yes.  My whole reason for starting was escapism.  Life can get pretty stressful when you live with a disabled child, writing gives me focus, clarity and purpose so I definitely feel like it’s helped.
Q9: What is it that makes you so fabulous?!
Well that’s easy, two teaspoons of awesome every morning and the biggest most unruly eyebrows in the business!
Q10: Finally, can you recommened anything to us today!? (Skincare/Beauty/Tv Show/DVD/Music/Food Item...anything!)
Oooooh now that’s a tricky one!  The skincare product I’m raving about right now is the Peachy Fox Marine collagen Eye Gel, it’s literally the best eye product I’ve ever used, House of Balloons by The Weeknd, never pluck or wax your brows, let them grow wild and free, and oh yeah, go see Spiderman Homecoming, it’s freaking awesome!
One secret is that I won the Clothes Show Face of the Year in the 90’s and another is that I’m a comic book geek and am completely obsessed with anything Marvel and DC, like hugely obsessed!

So that concludes our 'Meet the Blogger' for today! Thank You so Much for taking the time to answer these questions today, much appreciated!
