Pot Love 2 | The Sinking Chef Blog Tour | Neverland Blog Tours Plus Giveaway!

"Bridget Jones meets Burnt in this delightful comedy novel about a talented YouTuber and the guy who keeps trying to bring her down. Although part of a series this book is completely standalone, as are all other novels in the Pot Love Series.

In Belsize Park, London, Ashley works hard on her daily YouTube channel “The Sinking Chef”. It’s filmed right in her kitchen, so she doesn’t go out much.

James is a gruff British TV director, turned publisher, who Ashley had a crush on ages ago. She has moved on but when he calls with an offer to take her out to lunch she doesn’t say no. It’s only lunch – what can go wrong?

The day Ashley meets James for lunch and he promises her a book deal, she makes the worse decision in her life – to hide the book deal from her boyfriend, Giacomo. As things progress Ashley’s secrets mount up and other things in her life unravel. Is there a connection? And how is she going to get out of this without losing Giacomo and the life she loves?

Set in the heart of fast-paced London, The Sinking Chef is a charming story of love, recipes, secrets, and the determination to do thinks right by those you love most in your life."

My Review:

As soon as the blog tour for this book came into my inbox I knew it would have to be one I reviewed! The blurb really appealed to me and I knew it would be an easy read and I was right! I was instantly hooked from the very beginning, wanting to know more about each character and how they fitted into the story. This book would make the perfect pool/beach side accessory as (in the best way possible!) you don't have to think too much about anything, except perhaps 'can i be bothered to make that recipe?'.

As soon as you meet James you just know that he's going to be bad news for Ashley, Giacomo and basically anyone who he comes into contact with. It doesn't take long for Ashley, Jun, Paige and Pablo long to uncover who is behind the vandalism of Il Lugo nor just how sleazy James really is! With all books of this genre, there is a happy ending for everyone (except perhaps James!)

The book is written very well and makes for great reading because of this. I loved having the recipes at the beginning of each chapter as well, definitely got my mouth watering for sure! Perhaps sometime soon I'll try my hand at one or two....! Another thing I loved was how the chapters weren't named, they were just numbered...i know this is an odd thing to like about a book but sometimes they can take away from the reading as you get caught up in the title of each chapter and are already suspecting what lies ahead. With simple numbering like this you can concentrate on completing the story instead. Perfect!

I have not read any other books written by Sylvia Ashby but after this one I will definitely be searching out the first Pot Love to see how Ashley comes to be a very popular chef on Youtube and later a published author. I can highly recommend this book if you're into chick lit and are after something light to read whilst on holiday.

5/5 from me for 'Pot Love 2 The Sinking Chef by Sylvia Ashby!
