Bleet App | The App Where Bloggers Meet | I Interview The Designers Behind The New App For Bloggers! | Plus My Interview Feature!

Monday, 22 January 2018

I'm sure by now you have all heard about Bleet, the app designed for bloggers by bloggers. The Tinder for bloggers if you like! Find your perfect match wherever you are! I was lucky enough to be featured in their December newsletter which was amazing!! The team are so friendly so I definitely urge you to email them if you want to be featured too!

Anyway enough about me, read on to learn more about the app and the team behind Bleet:

1) Why did you decide to start making an app for bloggers?

I think it was due to the fact that it was so difficult for bloggers to meet other bloggers. Of course, communities had formed organically based on cities, counties etc, but you had to know they were there.

2) How did you come up with the name for the app?

It was simple and sweet amalgamation of "Bloggers" and "Meet". We were struggling to come up with a name for a long time and Lucy's brother just said "Bleet" and we knew it was the name.

3) Did you already know how to build an app or did you need to find an app developer?

I work as a software developer professionally so we definitely had a head start in that area but I'd never built an app before. It turns out, not as many skills were transferable as I'd hoped; but we eventually figured it out. The app was built and rebuilt several times before I was happy with it.

4) How long has it taken you to get where you are today with the app?

I had been experimenting with an fake app and proving various concepts for several weeks before we decided that it could be done. We announced Bleet and our intentions to launch it on August 29th 2017 to a fantastic response.

5) Do you expect it to have a good uptake when it's finally ready to launch?!

We've had a really good response from bloggers all around the world. We're still trying to reach more audiences but we're confident we'll have a good uptake upon launch!

6) Why did you decide to feature bloggers in your newsletters?

For us, Bleet really is all about helping bloggers to meet each other and helping to build communities.

7) Do any of the Bleet team blog at all?! 😃

I occasionally blog. It tends to be technology/SEO oriented. Lucy is the real blogger. Lucy's knowlege of blogging and blogging communities has been invaluable and instrumental in Bleet's success thus far.

8) Will the app be free or will you monatize it in the future?!

You'll have to take this with a pinch of salt, because we're not sure what the future will bring (it's still early days, after all). Our vision is that Bleet, in it's basic form will always be free. With that said, running an app isn't cheap and so we're looking into ways to fund it beyond it's infancy.

Just because I'm feeling generous and also if you haven't come across my blog before, here's the interview which featured in the December newsletter:
Interviewed: Sunshine Sarah
1. What made you start blogging, and how long have you been blogging for?
I have been blogging for 5 years which I can't believe really, considering I started way back in 2012 when blogs were just getting off the ground and we still didn't really know what they were! I know I didn't! I started because I didn't really have anything else to do and I thought it would be a good place to share the outfits  I was creating on this online game I was playing called 'Fantasy Shopper' where you could shop
anywhere in London as long as you had enough virtual pounds in the bank! You could level up by buying bigger wardrobes, a business suit which increased your hourly pay from £60 to £100! It was great fun because everyday there were themed competitions you could enter everyday and collect 'loves'. I loved it and would play endlessly - I even got my Mum into it! So that was where it started and I thought I wanted to be a fashion blogger then a beauty blogger and then a lifestyle blogger which is where I've stayed ever since. My blog name and layout/theme has changed several times over the years but I finally feel happy that 'Sunshine Sarahxo' is where I want to stay.

2. How would you describe your blog in three words?
Friendly, fun and engaging.

3. What do you enjoy the most about blogging?
The people I've met and the places I've been for sure. I feel lucky to have met so many amazing people through my hobby and I would love this to continue for many years to come!

4. Do you have any blogger friends that live near you?
Yes I do! I have met a whole new community of bloggers since moving to Harrogate last year. The Harrogate blogging scene is a really fun place to be and to have found friends who also understand how difficult it can be to juggle a life, a full time job, family and friends all whilst trying to find time to take photos, edit them and then write the post ,is truly magical.

5. Which social media platform do you enjoy the most?
Definitely Twitter and Instagram for sure! haha!
