Introducing Kiehl's Glow Formula Skin Hydrator | A Kiehls Masterclass Event In York | Making New Friends Over Gin & Cake!

Wednesday, 9 May 2018

Get glowing skin instantly with Kiehl's latest launch, this Glow Formula hydrates skin leaving it feeling soft and smooth while imparting a soft, energised-looking glow. Infused with antioxidant Pomegranate extract, it boosts radiance for an all over healthy glow. It is formulated with 95% naturally derived ingredients, is suitable for all skin types and tones, and has 24 hour hydration.

I had the opportunity to trial this product recently at a Kiehl's event held in their York store and I absolutely loved it, it's that perfect middle ground between a moisturiser and a really light BB cream, giving your skin a subtle glow and a whole heap of hydration to boot.

I have used Kiehl's products for about 18 months now and absolutely love them, if you've read any of my other skincare posts you'll know what kind of a journey I've been on with my skin and how much Kiehl's have helped me so I was very intrigued to find out more about their new product launch. I was delighted to meet Ciandra who organised the event and Hannah Louise who hosted the masterclass, both ladies were absolutely lovely and it was a pleasure to spend time in their company. It was a small event with only a small number of bloggers attending so it was a very intimate venue. It's always a pleasure to meet other bloggers who share your passion.

We were talked through a number of Kiehls' best selling products, including their famous Daily Reviving Concentrate, Midnight Recovery Cleansing Oil, Midnight Recovery Facial Oil, Ultra Facial Cream, Ultra Light Daily UV Defence, Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence and Hydro Plumping Re-Texturising Serum Concentrate. I knew a few of these beforehand but as always with skincare there's always something new!

A few new products to me included Powerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate with 12.5% Vitamin C (recently re purposed to include this amount), Creme De Corps Nourishing Dry Body Oil (with Calendula flowers), Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol Free Toner & Cleanser, Creamy Eye Treatment and Clearly Corrective Brightening and Soothing Treatment Water. I love playing with new skincare as much as most bloggers love new make up! I was very intrigued by the main product of course but also equally by the new Dry Body Oil, as I love the idea of coming out of the shower or bath and applying a product which will leave me dry within minutes. Anything to save time is a big winner from me! I actually have samples of the cleanser and toner in the same range to trial so I am excited to test them out and see how I get on with them.

It was great to learn how to apply all of these products correctly and what exactly they do all whilst in the company of Ciandra, Elysha Hawkins and Hannah Louise who were all so generous with their time and knowledge. Kiehl's has been in operation since 1851 and started in New York as an old world apothecary and has since expanded worldwide. At the heart of it, Kiehls has always been a pharmacy of sorts with products designed to help cure your skin of all manner of ills. If you don't quite know what treatment your skin needs, don't be afraid to head on in store and talk to the lovely staff who work there, they are all fully trained in each of the products and how they would work best with your skin. I have only ever had positive consultations previously in each of the stores I have been in and have come away feeling better about my skin and knowing what exactly it is I needed to be doing to help repair my skin and gain that clear skin I have been craving ever since my teens!

We of course tried out the new Glow Beyond Skin Hydrator and I loved how it instantly brightened up my complexion, just like a highlighter would do but without any of the fuss! The fact that it has double benefits is fab, no need for a separate hydrating serum and highlighting product in your ever bulging make up or toiletery bag! Just dab small dots of this over your face, rub in and get ready to glow beyond! I know I enjoyed getting the chance to have a play around with this new product and test it out before it went on general sale.

The whole afternoon was really lovey, meeting new bloggers, sipping on cocktails from The Botanist (just two doors down from the Kiehl's store in York actually!), chatting and getting to know each other. I always feel so honoured to be invited to events like this by big brands, it can seem as though my blog isn't seen or noticed and that I don't have the numbers so coveted by brands and bloggers alike. So when opportunities like this come along, it makes me very happy inside to know that yes, I am doing something right and my blog is worthy of being shown these new products or such. I will be forever grateful to my previous self for giving blogging a go 6 years ago for events such as these.

After a wonderful masterclass we were led to The Botanist for drinks which was just lovely! A gin always goes down well! It was good to debrief after the event, catch up properly and of course, follow each other on social media! haha!

I had a thoroughly wonderful day and left feeling very happy and lucky to have been invited.

Love, Sarah
