My Top Honeymoon Getaway With Desintation2 Holidays* | Lovers Escape To Thailand For Full Moon Parties, Diving And More!

Tuesday, 17 July 2018

Your honeymoon, probably the most expensive, most romantic holiday you will ever take. For some they go all out, spending more money on this side of their wedding than the actual ceremony, going to a bucket list destination and living their best life. I don't blame them really, if I *ever* get married I'd have a really low key affair and then go on a massive backpacking trip around Thailand, one place I never got to go when I went backpacking around Australia in 2013. From Krabi, Khao Lak, Bangkok, Puket and Koh Samui it has plenty to offer any happy couples who decide to jet off and do a bit of island hopping.

This is Thailand's third biggest island and is known for it's vibrant nightlife scene, immense beaches and breathtaking natural landscapes. Not forgetting the full moon parties of course! The Pearl of the Andaman is one of the country's most famous resorts for honeymooners who are looking for the most perfect of exotic escapes.

Of course, if you're looking for more than hedonism you will be pleased to know that this region is home to many a Buddhist temple, nature reserves and incredible landscapes. The perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy your honeymoon. I have seen many an Instagram picture of this beautiful island and I would absolutely love to explore its many charms.

This is in a collection of small islands and coastal resorts which also include Ao Nang and Krabi Town. If you love your beaches, rainforests and incredible limestone cliffs then this is the region for you. It is the calmer island of Thailand, offering honeymooners a calmer, more relaxed vibe, with quaint fishing villages, grand historic monuments and secluded coves, perfect for *ahem* alone time!

Of course for real escapism, you should head over to Railay beach. This incredibly secluded bay is only accessible via boat - the perfect place to really spend time with your love, celebrate your marriage and new life together. If you have ever read (or seen the film) The Beach by Alex Garland then you'll already be familiar with this island. *cannot guarantee Leonardo Dicaprio will be there though, sorry about that!*

Khao Lak

Khao Lak is located in Thailand's Phang Nga province and makes the perfect get away from it all destination if that's the kind of honeymoon you're after. Sadly, it was badly hit by the 2004 tsunami which devastated much of Thailand as a whole, but thankfully it has now been rebuilt and is home to rainforests, quaint villages, pristine restaurants and luxury hotels.

This sounds like the place I'd love to explore, especially considering how it was affected so badly by the tsunami. Giving back the the local community by way of your tourism can really help out a place like Khao Lak get back on its feet and become beautiful again.

Koh Samui

Koh Samui is Thailand's third biggest island and one the most popular with millions of tourists flocking here every year. With dazzling beaches, quaint fishing villages and Buddhist temples a plenty, Koh Samui may just steal your heart.

Chaweng is Koh Samui's busiest area with nightclubs a plenty if that's what you're into. But it also boasts health spas, boat tours and water sports including diving as well as being home to a three mile stretch of paradise beach. I mean really, what more could you ask for on a honeymoon? Sounds pretty ideal to me!

Thailand is such a diverse and rich country in terms of history, culture and religions. Everyone whom I've met who has travelled there always such what an amazing country it is, how beautiful the beaches are and of course how intense and incredible the full moon parties are!

For me, Thailand ticks all the boxes from what I'd want out of a honeymoon. A chance to travel the world with the one I love and explore new lands together whilst in some of the most stunning scenery. Just perfect.

if you're thinking of booking Thailand for a holiday or your honeymoon then head on over to Desintation2's website for more information. I promise you'll not be disappointed!

Love, Sarah
