5+ Delicious Vegan Bakes to Try Out in Spring

Last year, I wrote a post with a few vegan Spring recipe ideas. However, this year I want to look at lots of sweet vegan treats to try out in the new season!

Spring is the perfect time to start doing a bit of baking. The days are a little longer and lighter, and I always look forward to delicious Easter treats to enjoy.

From chocolate Easter delights to simple classic recipes, there are so many delicious ways to enjoy this brand-new season.

In this blog post, I've put together 5+ delicious bakes to try out in Spring. Each of these recipes is 100% vegan!

1. Vegan Easter Cookies

It is super easy to make delicious vegan Easter cookies for you and your family this Spring.

Make a simple plant-based cookie dough, and cut it into different shapes, including eggs, rabbits and chicks.

There are a few ways to make your baking experience easier if you're following a vegan diet, and I actually put together my top tips for vegan baking in a previous post.

Once your biscuits are fully cooked, you can decorate them with tasty icing.

Whether you prefer just a little icing or you want to go crazy with the decorations, simple Easter cookies give you the option to get creative with your baking.

Find a full recipe for vegan Easter cookies on the Vegan Family Recipes website.

2. Vegan Banana Bread

Banana bread is a tasty classic recipe- and you don't have to miss out if you're a vegan.

I love a good slice of vegan banana bread!

Banana cake is a super easy and quick recipe for all abilities, allowing you to treat yourself to a tasty, healthy slice of cake this Spring.

You can also make your banana bread your own. For example, you could add plenty of nuts and seeds to make it a little healthier, or drizzle over some icing to add a sweet touch to your Spring bake.

3. Vegan Baked Cheesecake

I love cheesecake! This recipe is completely vegan AND gluten-free, making it the perfect yummy vegan bake for anyone to try out this Spring.

You might think that cheesecake is impossible to enjoy as a vegan, as it is very dairy-heavy. However, that's just not the case.

4. Vegan Brownies

If you want to try out a delicious vegan bake, you can't go wrong with brownies this Spring.

Chocolate brownies are a tasty and simple sweet treat that anyone can bake, and you don't need many ingredients to whip-up a full batch of vegan delights.

Vegan brownies often contain cocoa powder instead of chocolate chips, to make sure they are 100% plant-based, and you'll still get that delicious gooey centre, too.

Check out the BBC Good Food website for a great vegan chocolate brownie recipe.

5. Vegan Hot Cross Buns

Hot cross buns are an Easter staple- but did you know that you can still enjoy hot cross buns on a vegan diet, too?

Hot cross buns are super simple. You need quite a few ingredients to make these tasty vegan buns, but you usually get quite a big batch- so they should last you throughout Spring.

Vegan hot cross buns use dairy-free spread and almond milk, adding a distinctive nutty taste to your Easter treats.

If you don't like sultanas, swap them out for vegan chocolate chips or leave them out completely for a tasty vegan Easter sweet treat!

Check out the BBC Good Food website for a full vegan Hot Cross Bun recipe.

6. Vegan Waffles

If you're looking for a unique vegan bake this Spring, vegan waffles are a great choice!

Waffles give you the chance to get a bit creative. You can add whatever you want to your recipe, including:

  • Cinnamon

  • Blueberries, raspberries or strawberries

  • Sugar

  • Golden syrup

  • Vegan bacon

  • Vegan whipped cream
