AD - Post written in collaboration with Fetch Publicity. I have received a copy of AHS Apocalypse in return for writing this and sharing a social post.
Season 9 of American Horror Story comes to FOX and NOW TV on September 19th at 10PM and I for one am so excited! There's nothing better than settling down on the sofa with something tasty and entering a world of the quirky and weird.
I have grown to love this crazy world and now really enjoy settling down to catch up with it. Since my last post I have watched Freak Show and Hotel so now I only have three left to watch - Roanoke, Cult and of course, Apocalypse.
On the outside AHS seems maddening and completely crazy, your worst nightmares come true and to the untrained eye this could be true. But what I've come to learn is that's there's also an undertone of a storyline which gives meaning to the madness.
One of the aspects of AHS which I love is how the same actors/actresses are in each season playing different characters. At first this is difficult to understand because in one season a certain character dies but then reappears in the next playing someone else!
But you soon realise that the new season is completely different so it wouldn't make sense for them to be playing the same character in the next season. Each and every season of AHS is completely different but is also tied together. There is this feeling that it's building up to something big - I just don't quite know what that is because who knows how many more seasons of AHS we have left to enjoy?! (*AHS has been renewed for 2 more seasons so we have plenty of this maddening world left to enjoy!*)

AHS Apocalypse Overview
Chaos has won, and evil runs amok in AMERICAN HORROR STORY: APOCALYPSE, the most terrifying and ambitious series yet of the hit anthology horror drama series, created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.
Season Eight takes place after a devastating nuclear war - the perfect setting for all manner of madness and malevolence. Emmy-winner Sarah Paulson, Oscar-winner Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts and Cody Fern return for more blood-soaked mayhem.
After the nuclear apocalypse, the world’s chosen elite survive in secure Outposts created by the mysterious Cooperative. On the American West Coast, Ms. Wilhemina Venable (Sarah Paulson) and Ms. Miriam Mead (Kathy Bates) run Outpost Three with an iron fist.
The unexpected arrival of Michael Langdon (Cody Fern), a Cooperative representative determined to save society with a secret paradise, throws their order into chaos. However underneath the surface of humanity’s salvation lies a battlefield for the final conflict between good and evil.
Vividly gothic and utterly spine-chilling, American Horror Story Apocalypse is packed with extraordinary terrors and blackly comic visions of hell on Earth, including Satanic cults, cannibals roaming a nuclear wasteland, voodoo spells, and a return of the truly ghoulish Rubber Man. Fans of the show will gobble it up. Newcomers beware - nightmares are guaranteed!

My Thoughts
Apocalypse is the perfect binge watch before 1984 comes out, catch up with all the latest happenings in this new world, and get ready for another dose of this crazy madness. You needn't worry if you've forgotten what happened - the end of Hotel flashes forward to Apocalypse which itself has crossovers to all the other 'worlds' that AHS has previously visited.
Apocalypse is set to answer all those burning questions that every American Horror Story fan has had, since the last episode of Murder House (I know I have!). What AHS does so well is keep you guessing right up until the end of every episode/series.
You may think you know what's happening - even given the crazy storylines and muddled timelines - but then along comes the next episode to completely throw you off! This is the wonderfully weird world of American Horror Story and so if you're ready to completely throw yourself in and get involved with it all, then I welcome you.

If you've never watched American Horror Story before, don't worry. Just start with Murder House and dive right in! Yes, all seasons are linked as they follow a story but I find them to each be so wonderfully unique that it doesn't necessarily matter in what order I watch them in.
So with this being said, I'm going to finish watching Hotel and jump straight into Apocalypse so I can be ready for 1984! I am so excited for this new season I can't even tell you! It's going to be fantastic viewing to see what the directors, writers, producers have got in store for us all this time!
And rumour has it that AHS has been renewed for another season after 1984 so we can expect this wonderfully weird world to be around for some time to come!
