Changing Up My Skincare For Autumn With Murad

AD- This is a sponsored post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

We all know that good skin comes from having reliable, proven skincare that works at improving your skin concerns whilst at the same time supporting your skin barrier and letting your natural glow shine through.

However this can be tricky to achieve in the Autumn/Winter months when the weather plays havoc with our skin and leaves us with chapped lips, wind burned cheeks and skin drier than the sunniest Autumn day.

Choosing which skincare to help combat this can be tricky, but this is where Skinstation comes in, an online store that allows you to browse and buy luxury skincare products at the most competitive prices. They’re passionate about improving skin concerns across the UK with clinically proven skincare systems.

From their extensive range, I was given the opportunity to find out this 4-in-1 Prebiotic Multi-Cleanser from Murad. It helps to treat dry skin and keeps the skin looking its best.

It is a gel-oil like consistency, which changes with the addition of water and is recommended for all skin types to combat dry skin but also to maintain skins’ health.

A 4-in-1 prebiotic make-up removing cleanser, using prebiotics to nourish and deeply hydrate the skin whilst removing dirt, excess oil and waterproof make-up. Its prebiotic properties balance the skins microbiome and the deep hydration properties infuse moisture up to 15 layers in the skins surface, leaving your face feeling cleansed, nourished and refreshed.

How to use: Use on dry or wet skin, gently massage over face, closed eyes and lashes. Wet hands and continue massaging as needed. Rinse and pat dry.

Changing Skincare For The Changing Seasons

As the seasons change, it’s important that we also switch up the skincare we use throughout the year, without losing the ingredients or products which help our skin.

In Spring/Summer we should use products which are light enough to cope with the heat and conversely in Autumn/Winter we should use products that provide more protection from the weather and keep our skin hydrated when it’s dry outside.

In all seasons we should also be using SPF, even in Winter the sun can still penetrate through the clouds so it’s important to continue to protect your skin throughout the seasons and help to prevent anti-ageing.

One part of your skincare routine which doesn’t change throughout the seasons is ensuring your skin is correctly cleansed at the beginning and end of each day. The key to an effective skin routine, no matter the season, is skin prep- starting off your routine with cleansing and gentle exfoliation.

The right cleanser and exfoliant should provide you not only with a deep cleansing action but also leave your skin barrier intact, meaning it shouldn’t strip, dry or irritate your skin.

Ideally you should cleanse twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening. The morning cleanse ensures all excess oils and impurities have been removed and you have clear fresh skin ready for the next steps in your routine.

The evening cleanse should be a double one to ensure you’ve removed make-up, oils and environmental pollutants and the second cleanse ensures your skin to maintain or work towards clearer, brighter skin.

A gentle exfoliant combined with a creamy cleanser will leave your skin feeling soft, refreshed, bright and ready for the next steps in your routine. Ideally after exfoliating, you should always put hydration back into your skin and this can be done either with a hydrating toner, serum or oil.

Using The Murad 4-in-1 Prebiotic Cleanser

(I’ve previously used the AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser from them & I love it!)

This cleanser is made with Hemisqualane, Cyclic Peptide and Prebiotc Powder.

Hemisqualane – Plant based emollient that effectively dissolves eye, lip and face make up as it nourishes skin.

Cyclic Peptide – 300 times more effective than traditional surfactants, delivering high-efficiency cleansing with low irritation. Traps oil and debris to be more easily rinsed from the skin without stripping natural facial oils.

Prebiotc Powder – Nourishes good bacteria to promote a healthy balance.

All Murad products are PETA Approved and Vegan so you can rest assured your new cleanser is as good for your conscience as it is for your skin.

There’s nothing better than having a complete skin routine which does no harm to animals in any stage of its development or sale, as a vegan this is extremely important to me and it something I always check before using or buying a new product.

I love using this Murad 4-in-1 cleanser as it’s so easy to use as it can be used on wet or dry skin – in the morning time I just need something really easy and simple to use because newsflash I’m NOT awake enough to have to wet my face before using a cleanser!

So, as with my favourite Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, I use it on my dry face first before wetting my fingers and massaging it into my skin, I then use a flannel or cloth to gently remove it.

It leaves my skin feeling so refreshed and clean, all ready for either my chosen morning moisturiser or my evening Skin+Me treatment. This Murad 4-in-1 Prebiotic Cleanser works well for either day or night and I love the pump action on it too, making it easier to use, especially if I’ve got wet hands already!

Looking After My Skin In Autumn

Whenever Autumn comes around I always try to look after my skin a bit more because I do feel the effects of all the wind and cold, especially on my cheeks so I like to find products which are going to protect my skin’s barrier.

I recently bought a new slightly thicker moisturiser from Boots to see me through the Autumn/Winter months. I can always tell when my skin’s feeling dry as my cheeks are the first place to be affected.

My lips also become more chapped too – I always suffer with dry lips but like most of us if I don’t use a hydrating/more moisturising lip balm and exfoliate them regularly they are prone to splitting and peeling.

So it’s important that, just like I use a thick moisturiser on my body during the colder months, I apply the same care to my face. Now that my skin is finally looking good it’s important to me that I keep it that way. It’s been a long time coming and I’d like to keep it that way!

So, here’s to a better Autumn/Winter skincare routine and me protecting my skin before I even head out the door!

Do you change up your skincare routine for the colder months? Do you have a favourite cleanser or have you ever tried this 4-in-1 Prebiotic Cleanser or even the AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser? Let me know in the comments below!

Love, Sarah
