Perfume, so evocative a quick whiff can take us back to a particular time, place or stir a memory long forgotten.
We can have several perfumes for different times such as a first dates, weddings, date-nights and they can all mean different things to us, but one thing is for certain - we're guaranteed to be taken right back there upon spraying it again.
I have always loved perfume and my absolute favourite has to be Angel by Thierry Mugler and Coco Chanel's Mademoiselle as they're (to me) just the right mix of sweetness and 'grown-up' scent I love.
Over the years my collection has grown to include many different scents, from Crabtree and Evelyn's Moroccan Myrrh to the newest release from Miller Harris.
It just goes to show how varied my collection and scent scale is.
The ones I tend to use most often are the Miller Harries Citron Citron, The Body Shop's White Musk Eau De Toilette and Crabtree and Evelyn's Moroccan Myrrh.
These are the ones which remain on my chest of drawers so are within easy reach when I am getting ready for the day.
My Favourite Perfumes

I have had YSL's Cinema for a while and it still smells as wonderful today as that day I bought it in Boots.
With perfume notes such as Clementine, Cyclamen, Jasmine, White Musk (sensing a theme here!), Benzoin, Amber and Vanilla it is a perfume which makes me think of glamour ladies in their little black dresses going to a red-carpet event.
This perfume lasts well and dries down to reveal the sweet base notes of amber and vanilla which I know most people wouldn't like, but I personally love.
A few of these perfumes have the same range of perfume notes in them which means that I tend to go for similar perfumes, but I guess I just love that particular fragrance range the most. My nose is attracted to Jasmine and White Musk so I'm not arguing!

Perfume is very expensive and so it is diluted down into Perfume, Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette and then Eau de Cologne. Hence the difference in price.
I find having an Eau de Toilette is best if you're using it every day, as you don't run the risk of wasting all your money by spraying it and thereby saving your proper perfume for special occasions.
I do in fact have The Body Shop's new White Musk L'eau which is a lighter version of their normal White Musk plus it's vegan!
It is a delicate musk which is enveloped by the welcoming clean freshness of Spring, sweetened with notes of Pear lifting effortlessly with Lily of the Valley, Jasmine and Rose Essence.
I tried it in store and fell in love! It is absolutely beautiful and the perfect scent for Summer. Similarly to White Musk it is light enough to spritz on before you head out for the day.
Both scents are favourites and I can't wait to start using my new White Musk L'eau once my original is all used up - which judging by this picture will not be too long!

This Rose Silence from Miller Harris has now sadly been used up, but it was definitely one of my favourites.
I have this thing with roses you see, I just absolutely adore their scent and this fragrance has perfume notes of Mandarin Orange, Blackcurrant, Rose, Cashmere Musk and Patchouli.
All of which work together beautifully to allow the Rose to be smelt alone, serene and freshly picked.

I know most people don't like the scent of roses, but to me it just evokes memories of love and happiness.

I have another fragrance from Miller Harris (citron citron) and I find this one to be another favourite for me.
It's good to grow your collection over time even if it means adding in one from the same parfumier.
I have not used this one yet and until today and not taken it out of its packaging! But I am excited to because I love creating fragrance memories, each one unique to a particular perfume.
Yes, another White Musk addition, this time in the form of a SO! Body Mist from Superdrug.
I have many memories of So! Fragrances from my school days, mainly in the form of their body sprays and well remember their Kiss Me....? sprays!
This is another addition to their range which includes sprays, perfumes and body mists like this one.
It's always great to see a brand expand their range and with these being so readily available it makes it easy to start building your perfume collection.
I find this is easy to throw in my bag when I'm going out for the day or take on an away day somewhere, the light fragrance is similar to The Body Shop's Eau De Toilette version but in much more travel-friendly packaging!

I love how my collection looks together. A good mix of high-end classics with high-street versions too; something for everyday and special occasions with memories attached to each and every one.
Each one timeless and unique in their own way, being there to evoke memories of happier times and make you smile when times are tough. Old ones for memories of younger years, new ones to remember times anew. Fragrance memories created to last a lifetime. With each new bottle comes a chance to create new memories but still retaining the old ones. Which perfumes evoke memories for you?
