'Emily in Paris' first hit our screens in October 2020- and it was just the kind of show we needed in the heart of Winter lockdown!

This show follows the story of a young woman who travels to Paris for work, facing indifference and annoyance from her French colleagues and wowing her clients with unique and fun advertising ideas.
The show also follows Emily's relationships in Paris, including a friendship with her hot neighbour and his girlfriend.

'Emily in Paris' is completely unrealistic, random and full of silly storylines- but that's the beauty of it!
It is escapism at its finest, and I can't wait for the third series to come onto Netflix soon.
In this post, I've put together 5 shows to check out if you loved 'Emily in Paris'!

The next series won't be out for a while, so these are a few fantastic, funny and light-hearted shows to watch in the mean time.

1. Dynasty
Based on the original show from the 1980s, Netflix is currently streaming a modern version of the classic drama.
Funny story, when I was studying Media at College, I actually did a comparison essay between Eastenders & the original 1980s Dynasty! And I got an A+ for it too!
This show is funny, crazy and full of ridiculous storylines that will make you laugh- and may sometimes have you on the edge of your seat.

'Dynasty' follows the owner of an oil company and his dysfunctional family. The modern version has added a more diverse cast- and it is full of strong female characters and hilarious stories to follow.

2. Selling Sunset
Just like 'Emily in Paris', 'Selling Sunset' is the perfect show if you love a bit of escapism.
I love to watch serious shows, but in the Summer we all need to find fun and light-hearted shows that put a smile on our face.

'Selling Sunset' is a reality TV show, following estate agents as they sell some of the richest, most luxurious Los Angeles homes.
It's amazing to peek into the lives of the rich and famous- and there is plenty of drama too!

3. The Hook Up Plan
If you loved 'Emily in Paris' because of its gorgeous Parisian location, 'The Hook Up Plan' is the perfect show for you- and it is hilarious!

There's a great mixture of funny storylines and touching moments, and there's even a series set during the Covid lockdown months which is very relatable.

4. Love Life
'Love Life' is a funny drama/comedy all about a young woman, Darby, who is figuring out her love life.
Each episode focuses on a different person in Darby's life, including short flings, female friends, family members and her soulmate.

The second series of the show was recently released on BBC iPlayer, this time following a man who ins't happy in his marriage.
This is a great choice if you loved 'Emily in Paris' as there are plenty of romantic moments and funny, random storylines to enjoy.

5. Sweetbitter
This drama is available on Amazon Prime, and it is the perfect choice if you loved Emily in Paris!
In this show, 22 year old Tess heads to New York, training at one of the city's best restaurants.

She is soon wrapped up in everything this city has to offer, including the amazing people she meets and the exciting places she visits.
'Sweetbitter' is full of similar storylines to 'Emily in Paris', including lots of unrealistic twists and turns!

What shows are you watching this Summer? Do you have any recommendations? Let me know in the comments!
