5 Vegan-ised Versions of Your Favourite Recipes

vegan sandwich

As a vegan, I love vegan-ising some of my favourite recipes. Although there are lots of recipes that are naturally vegan, it's also so satisfying to take one of your favourite recipes as a meat eater and make it completely vegan!

This might be a restaurant favourite - like my Pizza Express vegan-ised Pollo Pesto recipe - or a classic family recipe that just needs a few tweaks.

In this blog post, I've put together 5 delicious vegan-ised versions of your favourite recipes - including plenty of ideas for those following any diet!

1. Vegan Bacon Sandwich

This may be a simple one - but that doesn't make it any less delicious! I love swapping out bacon for great vegan alternatives, such as Quorn bacon or Richmond bacon rashers, whenever I make a tasty lunchtime treat.

A meat-free bacon sandwich is a simple but delicious recipe - and it's perfect if you need a quick meal idea, too.

You can also add whatever you want to your vegan-ised bacon sandwich. You could add some vegan cheese, avocado, tomato sauce, salad and more! It's completely up to you.

2. Vegan-ised Pollo Pesto

My vegan-ised Pollo Pesto recipe is one of my favourite vegan meals - and it's a great way to enjoy a delicious restaurant dish without compromising your diet.

Instead of chicken, choose vegan chicken replacement pieces and make sure to top your pasta with nutritional yeast and vegan parmesan for an extra kick of flavour. You'll also need to use vegan white sauce for this recipe.

This vegan-ised Pollo Pesto recipe makes the perfect vegan Spring recipe - and it's much cheaper than going out to a restaurant if you're trying to save a few pennies.

3. Vegan Cheese Quesadillas

If you're a vegan, you might be missing classic cheese, chicken or beef quesadillas. But you don't need to miss out!

Swap out beef for black beans - and don't forget to add plenty of vegan cheese to make a yummy, mouth-watering quesadilla treat.

You can add anything to your vegan-ised quesadilla, including guacamole, sweetcorn, tomatoes, salsa, faux chicken and more!

You can also use these simple swaps to create vegan tacos or burritos.

4. Vegan Teriyaki Wings

Vegan teriyaki wings are one of my favourite vegan junk food picks - and it is easy to vegan-ise this delicious recipe.

Simply swap out the chicken for soy protein schnitzels to make a yummy lunchtime or teatime vegan treat. Make sure to add plenty of sticky sauce and seasoning to make your vegan teriyaki wings as tasty as possible.

If you don't fancy making these teriyaki wings for yourself, you could also check out your local vegan restaurant, as many places serve tasty faux chicken wings, burgers and more - all suitable for vegans!

5. Vegan "Tuna" Salad

Tuna salad is a healthy lunch or tea option - but you can also make this delicious treat if you're a vegan, too!

Simply swap out tuna for chickpeas - and don't forget to add plenty of vegetables, such as onions, celery and tomatoes.
